Are you really THAT good at teaching Hebrew?
Yes. Because I learned Hebrew as a second language, and due to my difficulties with foreign languages, I have become an expert in how to learn Hebrew. Plus, I am a very good teacher in general.
I know first-hand what you are going through because I went through it myself, and I figured out how to succeed despite all the obstacles. I tried learning from Israelis — and so did many, many of my clients. It did not work well because they simply didn’t understand how an adult should learn the language.
I know what works and what doesn’t. I know what’s important, and what not to waste time on. And I am really good at finding solutions to learning problems — even ones which have frustrated my clients for years.

I don’t know what my problem is, but I am really bad at learning languages. Can you help me learn Hebrew?
Yes.
I wrote above that I was very untalented at learning Hebrew. This was true even though I was otherwise a very successful student. (I have a degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University.)
I have a lot of experience teaching intelligent people with a variety of learning issues. If you really do have a problem — other than bad teachers — there is a good chance I can identify what is holding you back.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Not a problem. Just give me 24 hours’ notice, and you will not be charged for the session. You can also reschedule a session on your own, via the Calendly link I will provide you after you join.
What If I join and then decide to quit? Do I still have to pay for the unused lessons?
You can quit at any time, for any reason (or no reason), and I will refund you for any unused sessions.
That said, I strongly encourage you to attend three months of weekly sessions before you make a decision about whether my method is working for you. I am confident that after three months of mentoring, you will see significant progress.
Do you teach Modern or Biblical Hebrew?
The short answer is that I can teach either or both.
That said, Biblical and Modern Hebrew are extremely similar – and in many cases identical. The two “versions” overlap probably 95% of the time or more. There are some obvious differences, but when you are learning one you are pretty much learning the other.
Are you willing to mentor people from any background?
Yes. I am used to teaching people from many different backgrounds —probably including yours — in a patient and supportive way. I am happy you are learning Hebrew, and I am glad I can help you learn faster.
Why do you call yourself a “Hebrew mentor”, and not a “Hebrew teacher”?
This is a critical point: I am not “just” teaching you Hebrew. I can help you with so much more than that.
I know that for most people, learning Hebrew is only a means to much larger goals: Connecting better to God, to Israel, to Jews, and/or to Judaism.
I get that, because I was the same way. I want to help you achieve those goals, as I have.
That is what makes me a mentor, and not just a teacher.
